Sealing High Humidity Wet Wells with CPP Trowel-Liner

Conditions within wet wells / manholes often create complications for contractors. Moisture-saturated substrates are not uncommon within these structures, making coating application environments less than ideal. These types of variables caused Turnipseed Engineers to pivot from their originally selected coating and turn to the unique features of Epoxytec’s CPP Trowel-Liner for the protection of this concrete wet well, 27′ deep by 7′ diameter, in Columbia County, Georgia.

Increasingly municipalities like Columbia County throughout the country are recognizing the value of protecting new critical infrastructure from the start, rather than waiting for deterioration to ensue. They attack the inevitable corrosion head-on, opting to seal and protect before H2S has the opportunity to deteriorate and damage the structure.

CPP Trowel-Liner performs in areas subject to H2S attack and has a unique ability to bridge adverse conditions found in high-humidity wet wells, mainly due to its surface and moisture tolerance. It serves as an applied lining system, preventing oxidation while holding back water migration and hydrostatic pressure; this feature makes it ideal for wastewater collection infrastructure.

Epoxytec’s CPP Trowel-Liner was trowel-applied to this Georgia wet well by MCS Coatings out of Hiram, GA by a crew of two in approximately a day and a half from start to finish, a trivial timeframe compared to the years of protection this application will provide.

It’s rare to get consensus from all parties involved, but at the end of this project, not only was Turnipseed Engineers pleased with the results, but the owner, general contractor, and applicator were all impressed with Epoxytec’s CPP product and its application as well.
